About Us

Michael Hassan, PhD, PE has been a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering where he taught at a number of Universities in the United States. He was educated at Wayne State University, the University of Washington, Buffalo State University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of Dayton, receiving a Ph.D. from WSU and a P.E. from the State of Michigan; he also holds a B.S. (Electrical Engineering), M.S. (Electronics Engineering), and M.S. (Electrical Engineering). He is the author of many scientific papers, intellectual properties, and textbooks.

Dr. Hassan has also been involved in electrical and computer engineering research in both industrial and academic settings. His current research interests include: analog, digital, and mixed integrated circuits design; digital and analog communication systems; alternative energy and electric vehicles; image and signal processing; computer vision and decision theory; control systems design; systems engineering, and aerospace engineering. He is heavily involved with the Small Business Innovation Research Program and the Small Business Technology Transfer Program. 

Honors include the IEEE Outstanding Engineering Educator Award, IEEE Certificate of Service Appreciation Award, IEEE Invited Speaker Award, IEEE Region 3 Certificate of Service Appreciation Award, the Wayne State University Teaching Scholarship Award, Wayne State University Research Scholarship Award, WSU Thomas C. Rumble Graduate Fellowship Award, WSU Graduate-Professional Scholar Award, Member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, Member of Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honor Society, Member of Eta Kappa Nu, the Electrical Engineering Honor Society, and Senior Member of the IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Dr. Hassan previously served as the past Vice-Chair and the past Student-Activities Director at the IEEE Southeast Michigan Section. He is currently serving as the Consultants' Network Chair and the Professional Activities Committee Chair at the IEEE Orlando Section. He is also an active member of the Inventors Council of Central Florida (ICCF) in Orlando, Florida.

Michael Hassan is also an active inventor. His latest invention is a Self-Energized, Green Electric Vehicle: a very high horsepower vehicle that runs without the need of fossil or bio fuels.
