VHDL was developed in response to the increasing complexity of digital systems coupled with decreasing product lifetimes and increasing reliability requirements. This course explores in detail the latest version of VHDL assuming no prior knowledge by the participants. Topics include: fundamental concepts of VHDL, scalar data types and operations, composite data types and operations, levels of abstractions, hierarchy in large designs, sequential statements, design of sequential networks, design of combinational networks, synthesis and design implementations supported by a large number of examples and case studies.

Course Materials
Lectures will be accompanied by copies of all presented material.

The cost of tuition for this course may be eligible for direct charging to a sponsored research project, because course activities can be identified specifically with the participant’s particular project and benefit the project directly. Please check with your office of sponsored programs.
Certification
A certification shall be granted to every participant who completes the course.
Course schedule and registration times
Class runs 8:30 am - 5:30 pm each day.
Registration is on the first day morning from 8:00 - 8:25 am.
